The Municipal Organisation

Each of these departments is led by a board or committee of political representatives, with the exception of the Education Department which operates under the supervision of two different committees.

The municipal departments and administrations carry out a wide range of operations within areas such as childcare, education and care of the elderly, leisure and recreation, general cultural activities and public libraries, implementation of green policies, fire and rescue services, town planning, property management, traffic and development projects, refuse collection and disposal, street and road maintenance, water and sewage services, parks and nature areas etc.
