Apans tankar och Moln (The monkey’s thoughts and cloud)

Emma Kronvall’s two-part creation Apans tankar och Moln (the monkey’s thoughts and cloud) from 2016 is situated at Lillsjöplan, next to Lake Munksjön. The two parts of the work are a short distance apart. The Monkey’s Thoughts – a seated figure with a lit up cloud of thoughts – is placed on a seat. A short distance away is the second part of the work – Cloud. It consists of a lit up cloud hanging from a lifeboat frame above a bench by the water. Viewers can sit next to the monkey, and the cloud creates a meeting place and vantage point over Lake Munksjön. The design is reminiscent of thoughts and dreams that emanate from within ourselves as well as from the outside world.

Emma Kronvall (b. 1976) is an artist born in Stockholm with a degree from the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (2004). She works three-dimensionally and has produced several public creations.
