Per Olof Ultvedt’s Hundöra (Dog ear) from 1970 sits on the wall outside the entrance to Jönköping City Library. The work consists of a number of triangle shapes of different sizes, which together form a large right-angled triangle. The bright front of the work flashes in sequences when it is dark outside and which is controlled by a computer from the year of its creation. Both the form and the title are linked to library activities through its reference to the folded corners of books that serve as bookmarks.

Per Olof Ultvedt (1927–2006) was born in Finland and studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts between 1945 and 1950. He is known for his mechanical sculptures as well as for his work on Hon (She)a cathedral at Moderna Museet, which he created together with Niki de Saint-Phalle and Jean Tingluely in 1966. Ultvedt has also created a number of other public works of art.
