Per Brahe the Younger had a drilling works built in the village of Röttle to manufacture musket barrels. It was converted into a flour mill in the late 17th century and remained in operation until 1923. The mill, which came to be known as Rasmus Mill, had by then fallen into disrepair and stood unused for several years.
In 1930, the mill was purchased by the Grenna Local Heritage Society, which carried out several renovations. In 1979, the mill was reopened, ready to grind flour once more.
Today, Rasmus Mill is owned by the Grenna Museum Foundation. During the summer, there are occasional opportunities to see the mill in operation – a living part of Röttle’s long industrial history.
