Tegnér Tower (The Forest Tower)

Tegnér Tower, also known as the Forest Tower, is 26 metres high and stands 351 metres above sea level.
On a clear day, the tower offers views of four regions: Småland, Östergötland, Västergötland and Närke.
The tower was built in 1973 on the initiative of sports enthusiast Torsten Tegnér. He had the idea as early as 1949 and spent many years raising funds for the construction. The opening ceremony featured, among others, the Court Singer Alice Babs Sjöblom, who was a close friend of Tegnér. Many of the guests climbed the tower’s 144 steps to enjoy the view.
Today, Tegnér Tower is owned by Jönköping Municipality
