Erik Dahlberg was governor of Jönköping County in the late 17th century. This bust was created by the artist Jonas Fröding and stands on a granite plinth bearing an inscription detailing Dahlberg’s contribution to Gränna. As governor, he worked to ensure that the town was granted its town privileges, which happened in 1693.
The bust stands here as a reminder of Erik Dahlberg’s crucial role in the granting of Gränna’s town privileges.
The bust was a gift to the town of Gränna from the Gränna Local History Society and was presented on the occasion of the town’s 300th anniversary on 24 January 1952.
