About the artwork
Obygden (the undeveloped area) is a large-format photograph of a Swedish pine forest, a familiar image to many that has been reworked here and given new, unfamiliar dimensions. The work and its title invite us to play with associations: the undeveloped, sparsely populated, remote areas – forests, glaciers and places left untouched by human influence. Through the work, the undeveloped area is given a place and voice, hopefully inspiring in viewers new, or additional, perspectives on both developed and undeveloped areas.
