In the middle of the Smedjan multistorey car park stands Johan Zetterqvist’s Proposal no. 17 very tall parking house, a 20-metre-high sculpture in steel and glass that extends all the way up through the building. The back of the glass is painted with grey, green, black, light blue, yellow and white squares. Running through the centre of the car park, the sculpture becomes the centre point in the movement of motorists around the building. The sculpture is also visible from a distance, as the top protrudes through the opening in the roof of the car park.

Johan Zetterqvist (b. 1968) is an artist from Arvika who studied in Gothenburg at the Hovedskous Målarskola (Hovedskous School of Painting) and the Valand Academy of Art and Design. He is known for his visionary ‘proposals’ for public spaces.
